I created this website in the spirit of offering my nearly two decades of teaching experience to those who might benefit on it. This website is a work in progress, but check in from time to time to see new content.
I help people all over the world realize their dreams of making music. At its core, ukulele is a beautiful instrument that one can pick up at any point in their life. Regardless where you are in your musical journey, we all started with a first step. This website is dedicated to ease your transition into the marvellous world of ukulele playing.
About Ian Lam

In my nearly two decades of teaching music to people of all ages, I have observed that most people share the same hurdles, challenges and queries in the early years of their ukulele playing journey. This website is intended to be a database of information, and a collection of technical exercises that will help you deal with all major obstacles for getting your ukulele playing to flow, that you may be able to freely express yourself on the instrument.

Courses
Just pick from one of the courses below and navigate from there. Feel free to skip lessons that you feel you already have a good grasp of. Please bear in mind that a lot of the challenges that you will face in ukulele playing requires physical conditioning of your hands and fingers before you overcome them. Reading the tips listed here will be beneficial to you, but doing the exercises and songs recommended in each chapter will solidify these lessons. What you'll learn
- Beginner lessons cover the basics from picking a ukulele, to tuning the instrument, playing some easy songs, and core playing techniques like strumming and fingerpicking.
- The intermediate lessons deal with problems that ukulele players face even after a couple of years of playing. such as: Barre chords, changing chords swiftly and accurately, playing fingerstyle, moving beyond basic strumming patterns, singing and playing the ukulele to a lyrics + chord chart etc.
- The advanced section covers practical music theory, techniques such as finger roll and tremolo, and fingerstyle playing.
- The FAQ section covers queries that are not directly related to playing the ukulele, but are useful information to help us on our ukulele playing journey.
